Personal Values

  • It is important to me that I continually acknowledge my strengths and weaknesses in equal measure. I am commited to my own personal work as a way to promote ongoing checks and balances in my own life.

I believe this helps me to retain a curious mindset that is growth-oriented and open to new perspectives, experiences, as well as opportunities for self-improvement.

We are already operating within so many systems that celebrate arrogance and self-promotion at the cost of dignity, transparency, and truth. Humility stands out to me as a value that keeps me honest and realistic about the quality of work I am offering.

  • As a visual artist, I am passionate about the role of creativity in community building, increased self-awareness, and catharsis. Art-making has been an important part of my identity from a young age and definitely informs how I approach my work as a therapist.

I believe that art and creative self-expression are incredibly useful tools within the therapy space, since the creative process helps us to strengthen neural pathways and supports neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to adapt and grow due to new experiences).

  • I believe it is just as important to laugh in therapy as it is to cry. Embracing humor as a core value allows me to find moments of levity in the midst of adversity.

This not only lightens the burdens of living, but also encourages me to find my way back to the creative and curious parts that can support me through whatever it is I am facing.

Humor reminds me to take myself less seriously, find flexibility in difficult situations, and a sense of connection to others through tough, but relatable, experiences.

  • I see curiosity as a guiding light that encourages openness to the unknown and a willingness to explore beyond my comfort zones.

This is the part of me that loves to learn, research, connect people to resources and each other, and that knows there is always so much more to learn.

When I find myself becoming anxious, unsure, ummotivated, or cynical - I know I can find balance through allowing myself to become curious and open to learning.
